Donation

We rely exclusively on donations and grants from individuals, corporations, foundations and special events to provide free programs, meet community needs and run our operations. We are not a government funded agency. By supporting Sheena’s Place, you are helping to provide a safe, non-judgmental support centre where those affected by eating disorders can openly share and get support for the challenges they face every day. Learn more about our impacts by reading our annual reports.

Join our Circle of Hope – Become a Monthly Donor!

Your support means a great deal to us as we rely on donations to fund our services — low-barrier eating disorder support and education that is completely free-of-charge. By committing to a $20 monthly donation for one year, 12 more participants will have access to a free support group session!

Sheena’s Place benefits from the full value of the gift, and you receive favourable tax benefits in the form of a tax credit on the donation and tax savings on capital gains of the donated securities. Loren Francis, FCPA, VP & Principal, HighView Financial Group

If you are interested in donating a gift of securities, please contact our Executive Director John Choi at jchoi@sheenasplace.org

Note: It is important to note that the tax rules for calculating the Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) are changing for 2024. These changes will apply to high income earners and may impact the tax effectiveness of gifting securities in-kind. Given these forthcoming changes, proactive planning for charitable giving with your advisor is highly recommended.
